2013 Billboard Awards BlueCarpet Review

The 2013 Billboard Award Show was this past weekend at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and as they say, 'what happens in Vegas, is very, very ugly'.

Miley Cyrus was the best dressed in her Balmain Couture jumpsuit and sexy red lip. Selena looked a bit off in her futuristic Atelier Versace number while Hayden Panettiere and Emmy Rossum wowed in black numbers, Halston Heritage and Zuhair Murad, respectively. Lastly, Taylor Swift looked neither good nor bad in a royal blue Zuhair Murad sequin mini.

Met Gala 2013: You Got Punk'd

The 2013 event of the season was this past weekend and the theme was 'How to Punk Celebs' or PUNK as I am sure the Met Gala invites stated. Some got it right and some got it wrong but either way, everyone was being punk'd because Miley and Madonna were some of the best IN THEME dressed at the Gala. Here is a round up of the red carpet roadkill;

My favorites are Nicole Richie, Cara Delevigne and Christina Ricci

Neither good nor bad, these ladies showed us that they were thoroughly confused by the Punk theme

Holt Renfrew X Rag & Bone

Last night I attended the Rag & Bone Spring collection event at Holt Renfrew. Floral boots and their signature 'Pilot' bag in a variety of colors were the center pieces of the presentation along with local graffiti artists creating art inspired by the collection. Cotton candy and giant pretzels stands were set up on the 3rd floor of the Bloor St. store while attendees were able to shop the collection and grab a drink and a bite. The only downside was that the DJ was blaring music so loudly I could barely keep up a conversation.

If Eloise lived in 2013

I am loving the latest collaboration between Kenzo and Vans. The psychedelic leopard print is right up my alley and perfect for the summer. I'm dying to get my feet in a pair of these. As an avid Vans collector (50+) I search high and low for these special edition collaborations in my size. However, I usually come up empty handed as I am a women's size 6.

2013 Oscar Red Carpet: What Were They Thinking?

While the Red Carpet at the 85th Academy Awards last night was quite spectacular there were, as always, those who fell short on the fashion bar. Amanda Seyfriend, I love you and think you are gorgeous but your 80's up do is killing me. Anne Hatha-way-too-thin wore this season's Prada and the ill fitting fabric made it look like she didn't get it tailor. And don't even get me started on her bust darts. Zoe Saldana shows that a bad dress can ruin a good time. Halle Berry and Salma Hayek thought they were going to a 'Dress like your favorite "Dynasty" character' party while Melissa McCarthy proved once again that defining your waist is always a good idea - drop waist, not so much.

Happy Valentine's Day! This Red Carpet season is red hot with rouge huded dresses being all the rage. From the Grammys to the Golden Globes and across the pond to the BAFTAs, Red on the Red Carpet is a must this season. Here is a round up of some of the best Red so far;

Rachel Weisz in a bodycon Victoria Beckham gown at the Oz premiere in Hollywood. Rihanna killed it in an elegant custom chiffon Alaia. Kate Hudson wore a lace paneled Stella McCartney to the ELLE Style Awards. Naomi Watts rocked a strapless Zac Posen while Jennifer Garner looked amazing in Vivienne Westwood at the Golden Globes. Jessica Chastain showed that redheads really can wear red in Alexander McQueen at the SAG Awards. Jessica Alba made us go gaga for her peach hued Oscar de la Renta at the Golden Globes and Cate Blanchett wowed us in a sequin red Armani Prive at the AACTA Awards.

Valentines Day for Kids

This is too hilarious. Adorable kids in J. Crew Crewcuts trying to explain love and babies. At least they all seem to understand that babies are made in beds and grow in bellies. The little red headed girl is too fabulous.
