Couture: Chanel Spring 2009

Yet another Chanel Couture collection and Kaiser Karl has wowed the critics. Everything from the unique elaborate headpieces to the ethereal ambiance of the collection and the structured silhouettes right down to the ankle strap platform shoes makes me love this collection over and over.

I chose a few of my favorite looks from the runway show. I love everything about this collection! Sequins, lace, tulle, feathers, chiffon, floral applique, black and white. I already know that Daphne Guinness will be vamping up these couture looks in her own unique, amazing way.

Collection I Lust for: Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2009

Jack and Lazaro have done it again! This whole collection is pretty amazing and the cherry on top is the PS1 bag. Mixing sequins, jewel tones and leather the Pre-Fall 2009 collection is a fresh take on recent trends.


I can't wait to pair my boxy Commes des Garcons peacoat with a sequined skirt, opaque tights and high heeled motorcycle boots. For those of us who can't afford anything from this collection I don't think it will be too hard to recreate these looks between Topshop, Urban Outfitters, eBay and a little thrifting.

I am searching for a vintage leopard peacoat just like Kate's. I have been scouring eBay for weeks and I am coming up empty.

Ms. Moss makes black and leopard print look so Rock n' Roll; even beside a dumpster.

How to get the LOOK

While browsing through photos of one of my favorite models, Behati Prinsloo, I came across this super sexy image and thought the look would be quite easy to copy.

First, a pair of light colored undies are needed. If you don't have a baby blue pair it doesn't matter. Second, resurrect all of those fabulous statement necklaces you have been storing away since this summer and layer them, as many as possible, in order to cover things up a bit....but not so much that you hurt your neck. Lastly, pump up your hair with some volumizing products and maybe a little bit of teasing. Voila! You are ready for a sexy romp or a racy photo shoot, whatever floats your boat!

Only Alexander Wang can take basic black and make it sparkle. His leather handbags have flown off the shelves, this upcoming t-shirt line is guaranteed to sell out and the buzz surrounding his runway shoes is only getting louder. Something tells me Mr. Wang is going to be setting the trends for a very long time.....

Twilight Fashion

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I recently went to see "Twilight" and I have become ridiculously obsessed with it. I am currently trying to read the books and am planning on going to see the movie again this weekend. Honestly, Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen is the hottest character gracing the silver screen in years! Not only is he unbelievably sexy but his wardrobe is pretty great too. Layering cool neutrals like gray v necks over navy shirts while wearing classic shapes like a peacoat, Edward is brooding in style. I especially love his nod to a current fashion trend, the Ray-Ban. For a movie that seems to be lacking in any fashion sense, Edward carries the torch for someone looking for more than just some sexy vampires.

Thank God for Sales

I recently returned home from my winter vacation and I am pleased to say that I got some amazing things at unbelievable prices! Elizabeth and James Noguchi jacket, 3.1 Phillip Lim red leather motorcycle jacket and Marc Jacobs runway buckled boots all at %50 off! Also, under the influence of Rumi at Fashiontoast.com I caved and managed to find one of the last pairs of the Sam Edelman Balenciaga boot knock-offs. I admit they are a bit awkward to walk in but I really love how tall I am when I wear them.


Otherwise, I am bringing home a wicked tan and some New Years resolutions that I am trying to keep. Hope everyone had a great New Years eve and I wish everyone happiness and health in the new year.

A new year means a new outlook on life. This is the time that we get a fresh start to turn over a new leaf and perhaps improve ourselves a little. For your first day back to work after the holiday a new outfit is just the thing to set you into a new spin. Try pairing pencil skirts with a flowing blouse and cute lace-up booties. I know that the office is for serious work but you can always slip some luxury into your business life with some luxe datebooks or portfolios and maybe an over sized handbag to double as a briefcase.
