Must-Have: Jewish Rosaries

Being a Jewish fashionista, I have always been fascinated by rosaries, the forbidden necklace. Never allowed to wear one, I always loved how a rosary looked dangling around my Christian friends necks.

Low and behold my fellow Hebs, Carlen Altman of Brooklyn, NY has answered our prayers! Handmade and shipped worldwide, Jewish Rosaries come in gold or silver, an array of colored beads and with several different Judaic charms.

Alexis Bledel in WWD

I am obsessed with Alexis Bledel because of Gilmore Girls. She looks like Snow White; skin as white as snow, dark brown hair, blue eyes....Gorgeous!

I love how tough she looks in this editorial from WWD. Her eyes are piercing and the leather clothes shine against her pale skin. I'm even feeling the crimped hair....haha.

Rock and Rolla

Alice Dellal is a model and socialite but breaks all the molds with her punky rock style and half shaved head. Often seen wearing Creepers or combat boots with torn black tights, black leather jackets and cropped jean cut-offs, Dellal manages to look amazing when she hits the red carpet.

Never straying too far from her signature style, Dellal vamps it up when she goes black tie in super tight dresses and leopard print with studded accessories. I'm sure everything in the previous post, "What A Stud", is right up her alley.

Copy Cat: Max Azria Does Max Azria

It seems as though Max Azria had been ripping off Herve Leger, which he owns, for his other label, BCBG by Max Azria.

Max, making cheaper copies of your own designs might seem like a good idea but makes everyone who splurged on a real Leger feel like an idiot.

Holla Lolla

Lollapalooza rocked out this past weekend in Chicago. In the spirit of festival fashion, Lolla 2009 was a hipster jumble of American Apparel and Hunter wellies. Come rain or shine, the attending fashionistas never let their guard down whether it be in shorts and sandals or Sperrys and rain slickers. Hats were a must have along with fuss free festival hair. Miss Jessica Pollack, the middle photo in the plaid shirt and yellow Sperrys, made her drinking and dancing more hands-free with a trusty yet stylish fanny pack.

You're IT!

While I was away my blog was tagged! I'm so excited because this is my first time being tagged and thanks to Style Antoagonist, y'all are going to learn a little bit about me, Shopaholic.

What is your current obsession?

My obsessions are as follows; FASHION, music, food and cult movies. Obviously fashion is the biggest one, I live and breathe fashion. Nothing excites me more than new runway collections, vintage clothing, shoes, accessories, etc. I have been known to stand in a high end department store and caress the dresses.....not always a good idea when I don't intend to buy :).

What is your horoscope & do you relate to it?

I am on the cusp between Cancer and Gemini. I guess this means that I am calm and two faced. Sometimes that is very true but most of the time I am myself and I don't think that astrology has anything to do with my behavior.

What are you wearing today?

Marni black bubble dress with a Marni belt, Barbara Bui grey suede fringe sandals, Proenza Schouler PS1 in chartreuse (the best buy ever, I wear it everyday and it goes with everything), gold accessories including a great vinage Hermes cuff and by work bag is a vintage Louis Vuitton mini portfolio.

What is the last thing you bought?

A few vintage handbags on eBay, some simple black separates from J. Crew, a pair of Genetic Denim jeans.

What do you think about the person who tagged you?

A great blogger, super cute and fashionable. I love Style Antagonist because she posts amazing pictures and manages to look great in all her photos.

What’s for dinner?

I'm hoping to have a steak salad.......?

What’s your favorite decade, fashion wise?

Hmmmm.... that is a hard question. I work in the vintage fashion industry so choosing one is so hard.....I am going to have to choose 2; the 50's because the clothing made then was for real ladies. There is nothing better than a 50's style dress that accentuates a woman's body perfectly. Besides, some of the best known designers were actually alive and designing then; Dior, Balenciaga, Chanel.

The other fashion era I am obsessed with is the 80's. No matter what, the 80's were a time of decadence and everything was BIG. I love Chanel jewelry and accessories from the 80's and there is no denying that the shoulder pad is making it's come back, thanks to Balmain.

What are your must haves for summer?

Strappy sandals, distessed jean shorts, ray-bans, gold accessories and sun screen!

What would you love to be able to afford?

Everything my heart desired? Especially high fashion, couture and everything in between. I can't decide on one thing because there are so many things to want!

What is your favorite piece of clothing from your own wardrobe?

My 'go tos' are my Zara blazers and Harem pants, my Genetic Denim jeans, Alex Wang Ts, my Jumbo Chanel handbag and my Marni dresses.

What is your dream job?

To have my own clothing line that consists of high end separates; blazers, t-shirts, sweaters, etc. Made in luxe fabrics and tailored to the body they would flatter every silhouette. The pieces would have a high end feel allowing them to be day and night wear. I would also love to work at a magazine but I am not a great writer.

What’s your favorite magazine?

VOGUE, Teen Vogue, gossip mags (can't help it), Canadian Flare and Fashion magazines, Elle (thanks to Kate!).

What do you consider a fashion faux pas?

Socks and sandals, Crocs and sandals. Ewww.

Describe your personal style:

Not sure, I like to bounce around. Maybe somewhere between feminine and avant garde. If there even exists such a place....

Which Beatle is your favorite?

John Lennon, hands down.

What are you proud of?

My family, myself, my achievements.

Hope you enjoyed learning a little more about me.
