TIFF Review: Youth In Revolt
Michael Cera once again plays the unconventional "heart throb" in the upcoming Youth In Revolt from director Miguel Arteta. However, in this case it is his 'heart' that is throbbing for his trailer park girlfriend, Sheeni, played by the beautiful Portia Doubleday.
Constantly trying to 'be bad' and lose his virginity, Cera creates a French, mustachioed alter ego, played by himself. But his performance overshadows his...err...performance.
Lush forest scenes, teenage sexual angst and juvenile delinquency all have their place in this movie and the dialogue is hilariously and sarcastically delivered by Cera and Doubleday. With a stellar supporting cast; Steve Buscemi, Zack Galifianakis, Jean Smart and Justin Long, Youth In Revolt is sure to be a hit.

TIFF Review: Whip It!
In the mood for a chick empowering, feel good, kick ass movie? Whip It! is just that. Drew Barrymore in her directorial debut has put together a fantastic movie with an amazing cast to boot. Starring Ellen Page, Barrymore, Kristin Wiig, Marcia Gay Harden, Juliette Lewis and Ali Shawkat, best known for her role as Maeby on Arrested Development, Whip It! was one of the best films to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.
The movie centers around Page as a young girl trying to find something in her life that makes it worth living, oddly enough, that turns out to be a roller derby league. The scenes are jam packed with action, this is not your normal chick flick. It is so good, even your boyfriends will enjoy the hot girls kicking each others asses on the skating rink.

TIFF Review: The Green Porno
The Toronto Film Festival launches today but last night a few lucky people were invited to a private screening of Isabella Rosselini's series of vingettes about the mating rituals of sea animals and insects. I was lucky enough to get an invite and am pleased to say that the short 2 minute clips are funny, entertaining and very educational.
Rosselini is the only actor in the series and plays all parts aside from the sporadic appearance of Dr. Claudio Campagna, marine biologist. The fabulous sets and costumes are all constructed out of paper and the racy content is light-heartedly delivered by a beaming Rosselini.

Fall Fashion 2009
As I write this I am sitting in my air conditioned office wearing a mini skirt, tank top and sandals. Now, I am not saying that I want summer to end but lets face it, it's going to happen whether we like it or not. So I decided to look on the positive side and think about what I am looking forward to with fall fashion.
Firstly, scarves. I love scarves. I have a million and I wear them constantly in the fall and winter. My favorite is my Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse leopard print one in red (off ebay for half the price!) but Club Monaco also has soft, well priced cashmere blend scarfs that come in black, grey, white and other neutrals. Thrown on with an all black ensemble, a colorful scarf really pops!
Another obsession is tights. While they may not actually keep your legs warm they do allow you to wear your favorite summer dresses through the fall. Paired with opaques and boots that sweet summer number is perfect for fall fashion. Layers are key to pulling off this look and sweaters help winter-ize your summer favorites.
Lastly, let's not forget all those fabulous coats you have stashed away. A great coat can make a whole outfit or sometimes, be the whole outfit. I shuffle through a few must-haves; the leopard print coat, the pea coat, the Rick Owens-esque leather jacket, the trench and of course the puffer. Now, it isn't necessary to have every type of coat/jacket in your repertoire but make sure your coats are flattering and fitted as well as warm and cozy.
Take a note from the ladies of Copenhagen and get ready for the fall because it is upon us.

Romeo + Juliet
This movie is perfection. I was, and still am, deeply obsessed with every moment. The soundtrack, cinematography, acting, Leonardo DiCaprio......need I say more?

I have always loved Angela Lindvall. She is so beautiful. She can be the poster child for The Gap and, at the same time, her editorials for Paris Vogue blow me away. Whether she is walking down the runway at Fashion Week or for Victoria's Secret she always looks flawless.
