Royal-Wedding-itis

I don't know about you but I have a slight case of Royal-Wedding-itis. No, I am not going to wake up at 3 am to watch the event live but I am Tivoing it on several channels to get a well rounded report of the event and I am going to try my hardest to not log on to any gossip, fashion, celeb, wedding, etc. sites until I have been able to watch it once all the way through. Wearing a tiara. Eating tea and scones. Too much?
Above are some of the very hilarious Wills and Kate memorabilia you can get, I especially love the gloves, along with some fashion staples that pay homage to the Union Jack.

You've Come A Long Way, Baby

I've been a long time die hard J. Crew fan. Every season they produce fashionable clothing and staples at reasonable prices with the quality you would expect from a high end label (sometimes better quality). They have expanded to jewelry, shoes and handbags and along with amazing collaborations with labels such as the legendary Barbour and well known fashion junkie favorite, Fenton/Fallon, J. Crew has become more than just a preppy place for polo Ts and bathing suits.
Scanning through their Fall 2011 look book I was taken back by how creative they have become and how much they really look to the runways of high fashion and couture for inspiration. It was a little hard to believe that the look book was for J. Crew! The leopard slippers, structured bags in colors that pop and luxe toppers with menswear inspired accents are all on point with the Fall 2011 trends and pieces I am searching for to add to my personal wardrobe.
Thank you J. Crew and Jenna Lyons for upping the ante and taking J. Crew into the new millennium in style!

S/S 2011 Trend: Men's Style Shoes
I've been lusting for a pair of the Balenciaga menswear style shoes from their S/S 2011 collection and I was thrilled to see that several other designers jumped on the men's-footwear-for-women bandwagon. The Rag & Bone spectator style shoes have sexy cut outs along the top exposing the foot in a very feminine way while the Proenza Schouler sandal version can show off a great pedicure. The Thakoon denim and patent leather backless ones are really the most daring style - not for the faint of fashion.

Easter Fashion Hunt

While spending some quality time with my computer on Easter Sunday I stumbled across these amazing Easter eggs created by an array of fashion designers on Vogue.com via Jason Wu's super cute blog. I love how each designer's egg is so unique to their style and even something as ordinary as an Easter egg - usually pastel colored and filled with candy - can become something so chic with a few added touches. My favorite is of course, Eddie Borgo's, I have a soft spot for gold and spikes. The Rag & Bone one looks so funny in a mini motorcycle vest and Jason Wu's has a slight Gaga feel.
Happy Easter!!
Love,
Shopaholic xx

When Tommy Met Anna
Last night was quite the event! It was practically a meet and greet for the fashionable Toronto folks to catch a glimpse and maybe a picture of ADR. Tommy was also the center of attention, of course, making it very difficult for me to grab a pic with him so I had to pose with the opening photo of the exhibit ;)
The actual exhibit is really a must see and showcases not only the amazing clothing that ADR wears but Tommy's eye for detail. Showing at The Room at The Bay's downtown Toronto flagship store from April 21st to May 8th, 'When Tommy Met Anna' is a fashion lover's dream.

Tonight's The Night!!!!
The 'When Tommy Met Anna' event is tonight at the Hudson's Bay flagship store in Toronto and I am beside myself with what to wear!? I'll try to channel Anna but I don't think I can rock cherries on my head.
Below are some of my favorite shots of Anna taken by Tommy that are showcased on Style.com for the event.

I will have a full update tomorrow.

Style Study: Coachella 2011

The festival was in full swing this weekend and the stylish ones came out to play. Rocking hippy dresses, motorcycle boots, cut off jeans and everything in between Coachella was more about what you were wearing than what you were seeing.
Jumpsuits are back in bold prints like the one jewelry designer Shannon Davenport rocked with a slouchy bag and round sunglasses. Mulberry minx, Alexa Chung sported a cocktail dress by the label with a simple tote and sandals. Blogger Elin Kling went simple with jean cut offs, a black T, boots and a floppy hat while actress Kate Bosworth put a new spin on patriotism in white cut offs with an American flag top. Of course, self professed flower child and jewelry/accessories designer, Chase Cohl, wore one of her many white flowing vintage dresses with desert boots and a wide brimmed hat.

Gilded Pyramids

I am obsessed with any piece of jewelry with a pyramid or stud on it and these bracelets by nOir jewelry are really the best I have come by, quality and price wise. They have several different styles; paved or polished and I love to stack them with other bracelets for a unique look. All bracelets are available through their website www.noirjewelry.com

Snap Happy

Above are two images from two different days of Tamu McPherson, fashion blogger of All the Pretty Birds, captured by Tommy Ton during fashion week. I love how she takes a picture with her whole body, bending down to get the perfect angle and does it all in those amazing neon green heels. Take it from Tamu, color blocking and camel work wonders for your spring wardrobe.

Fashion to the Extreme
I was browsing Tommy Ton's amazing pictures from the most recent Fashion Month on Style.com and I am always taken back by the extreme fashion choices of the show attendees. Here are a few of my favorites;

Kate Bosworth at the Burberry Prorsum show wearing a studded pencil skirt by the label. I wonder how she sits down?

Taylor Tomasi-Hill taking her inspiration for this necklace from the Kayan Lahwi ladies.

I can see you're horny ;)

Toronto Fashion Week: Chloe comme Parris

My dear friend invited me to a fashion show this week during Toronto Fashion Week and while I am always more than happy to attend a fashion show, I wasn't prepared to be wowed. Chloe comme Parris is a sister design duo, Chloe and Parris Gordon, from Toronto who have launched an amazing line that is comprised of clothing, accessories and jewelry. I have dubbed them the 'Alexander Wang of Toronto' because their designs have an effortless cool and relaxed ruggedness about them that is similar to Wang but very unique in it's own right.
The above images are from their Spring/Summer lookbook and their Fall collection (the fashion show I attended) is equally as amazing. They showed handbags with large buckles and their models walked the runway dripping in quartz necklaces. It was truly amazing. I am now a huge fan of Chloe comme Parris and hope to get my hands on a few of their amazing fall pieces.
For more info on Chloe comme Parris visit their website here.
